We had such a great time picking strawberries today! Makenna didn't understand the basket concept so she would just pick and eat! It was a fun family outing though. And then where you pay they also have ice cream (weird combination I know!) but we had to have one of their homemade waffle cones! So Brayden of course ordered 'Death by chocolate' who had been asking if there was a place you could pick chocolate!!! And Ben my wilderness buff ordered 'Moose tracks'. I thought they were both appropriate choices :)

Bubblegum
Who knew that a piece of gum had such importance in the life of a 1-year-old! Makenna is obsessed with gum! She will have a complete melt down anywhere if I don't have gum to offer. She will rummage through my purse to make sure I'm not hiding some somewhere. And really after 3 kids I've never had one that really chews it, it is usually used more for entertainment purposes. But not Makenna she chews that thing for hours until she is ready to upgrade to a new piece :) Most her pictures these days display the bright green gum in her mouth!
Oh Makenna
Makenna is at the funniest age. She says and does things that just crack us up. Last night she lifted up Brayden's shirt and was looking at his "outie" belly button and said "funky". When she says it she wrinkles up her nose and it comes out "A funk-ee". Her voice goes really high at the end "ee" part. I wish I could attach a video of her saying it to get the full effect. But it is definitely something I don't want to forget that she did. It can make me laugh no matter what the situation and she knows it!

Ben turns 8
So last night as we celebrated Ben's 8th birthday I realized throughout the day how quickly 8 years have passed me by. All the funny and loving things he says and does have not been written down anywhere! So it gave me the motivation to start this so when he is 28 I know that somewhere I have it all instead of in my head because we all know that isn't too reliable!!! We had such a great day yesterday. I spent the night before his big day wrapping and decorating so when he woke up he would feel the excitement that the day had to offer. I've always made a big deal out of my kids birthdays because well lets be honest I love making a big deal out of my birthday and always have!!! I was awoken to a loud off tune song being sung in my ear by Ben the words went like this "this is the day you had me..." I knew I was in for a fun filled day at that point :) We got up and opened a few presents, went and had pizza with daddy, he got to go pick out a new pair of shoes and a watch, Cold Stone, and on to swimming, lasagna, more presents, marsh mellow roasting on our deck, and finally cake and ice cream!!! But really what makes me write this post is what he said to his dad when his big day was coming to an end. He was hugging Brandon and he pulled away and said "You know what my favorite present was?" and Brandon said "no what was it buddy?" and he said "You dad". What an amazing son we have and how incredibly blessed he makes each and every day! When he made a wish on his candles this year he told me that he thanked God for giving him such great parents. The truth is Ben you are the greatest gift of all and we thank God for you everyday! We love you and Happy 8th birthday buddy! xoxoxo
